Hobbitshire

Made it to the cabin in the woods after slightly under 300 miles on road.

It’s actually the backyard of my Airbnb host. They live in Hobbitshire. Everything is so cute, you just want to leave it undisturbed. When I first saw the cabin, I thought of calling JM. He wants to disappear. My cabin would do.

It's twice as big as my first 1 bedroom flat in NY, and it has a private garden. La classe...

I’m loaded with food supplies. I could actually spend a week in here. I just forgot the salad dressing. My host has 2 types of olive oil stacked in the cabin. No fucking vinegar. Will have to drive back to Coop. 5 more miles.

That would round it up to 287 for the day. Half of it speeding through the maddest roads in middle earth. Like… speeding. Alone for miles. Just Waze, Biffy Clyro, and these two white lines (ok, once you reach the 40st parallel, they don’t paint the roads anymore. By Ullapool, it’s a cir-convoluted one way road. At your own perils).

I spent the other half of the trip stuck behind a slow truck. You know what? I took it like a wise man. I could have attempted a few Alonso-like blind passes, but I mostly stayed put.

The Tucson is surprisingly nibble on Sport Mode. While not strictly designed for adventure, I’m proud of my car. We kill no baby lamb. And the way you avoided that face to face collision with the dumb French tourist, awesome. Her name is Jocelyne. I know cause she was wearing a pendant with her name on it. That’s how close we came from crashing into eachother. At 69mph. You did well Tucsy.

The sun is setting in my little garden. It gets cold quickly. Am going to prepare diner. I might come back to this later. Not much else to do in Drumnadrochit, unless you want to check out Nessy down the road.

Forgot to say.

The cabin sits less than a mile from the Loch Ness… 🦕 😱

So… I’m sure you’re wondering about that beach… But first, lemme go back to COOP grab some salad dressing for my diner.
