Southern Discomfort

When one arrives in Edinburgh on the way of Northallerton, the place feels a bit like Manhattan with a gothic, medieval feel. It’s surprisingly diverse. In the first hour I was there, I heard every single language spoken on earth. Basically, foreign students and tourists.

Lots of tourists.

On a random Monday outside school holidays. WTF are all these people doing here, now?

Well, first of all, Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city.

Second, it's gorgeous.

There’s a nice castle on top of a hill in the middle of the city, and it looks fierce.

It’s, easily accessible via train or plane, or even ferry.

And it’s south.

Too south.

I need to head north. Leave the tourists behind.

Tomorrow I’m going to Inverness, the gateway to the big north. Had never heard of that place until this morning. It’s gonna be dope.
